[Psalm 147:3, Luke 4:18-19, Isaiah 61:1]
James: Mercy Triumphs | Room E203 with Pam McPeek & Sara Hamlin
beginning February 28
James, Jesus’ own brother, started out as a skeptic. See how one glimpse of the resurrected Savior turned an unbeliever into a disciple. Bible scholars compare James to the prophet Amos. In other ways, James more closely resembles the Book of Proverbs than any other New Testament book. Topics include: joy, hardship, faith, reversal of fortunes for rich and poor, wisdom, gifts from above, single-mindedness, the dangers of the tongue, humility, and prayer. This is an 8 week DVD study by Beth Moore.
Colossians | Room E205 with Maggi Garrison
Colossians . . . a letter to an early church written by Paul from his house arrest. Want to know more? Then gather with fellow disciples in this interactive conversation. We will open our Bibles and read what has been communicated to us by the Spirit. We will practice simple, effective study while letting God’s Word “live in our hearts and make us wise” (3:16) as well as devoting ourselves to prayer. The only book you will be using is your Bible, but bring a notebook to journal your journey through this small, but amazing book.
Developing the Spiritual Life of Children | Room D202 with Pat Kinsey
Passing our faith onto our children is vital. How can we help them want to know Christ? This 6-session course will discuss how to make God real to your children by teaching them how to pray, making church a positive experience, helping children make their faith their own, and using stories to make the Bible come alive.
Ephesians – Understanding Your Blessings in Christ | E205 with Linda Chevalier
As God’s children, we have everything we could ever need for daily life. Yet we often miss these riches because we don’t know what they are. As you study Ephesians you’ll discover…
- the keys to becoming spiritually strong
- the spiritual armor that protects you in life’s battles
- the incredible spiritual blessings God has given you
- the ways you can make use of these riches
You’ll find yourself overflowing with praise for all that God has given you—provisions that will make your journey with God more exciting, practical and fulfilling.
Jeremiah, Part 2 | Room E202 with Renae Salazar
Jeremiah, a prophet appointed by God, spoke a hard message to the people of his day. It’s still God’s message today – a call to listen to His Word. Heeding Jeremiah’s message can bring healing and hope to all. This is a DVD Precept study by Kay Arthur.
Stepping Up: A Journey Through the Psalms of Ascent | Room E203 with Pam McPeek & Sara Hamlin
This is a Beth Moore study of Psalms 120-134. Traveling pilgrims sang these psalms both on the way to the great festivals of the LORD and as key elements of the worship at those festivals. Just as a song or poem can express feelings of fear, doubt, hope, and joy, these 15 psalms model how we can voice our own petitions and praises to our God, who is always available and ready to hear us.
Themes of unity, joy, gratitude, redemption, repentance, the power of blessings, facing ridicule, and more are explored in detail. Modern-day believers in Jesus Christ can learn much from these treasured Psalms in their journey toward greater intimacy with God.
Wednesday Evening | 6:30 to 8:00 pm

Hebrews, Part 2 (continued from Fall 2011) | Room E201 with Nancy Jo Miller
Ever wondered how the New Testament connects to the Old? This fascinating study of Hebrews 5-13 explains relationships between the two covenants, the earthly and heavenly tabernacles, and the sacrifices of animals and the Son of Man. See how Jesus fulfilled the Law and Prophets and became our great High Priest. This is a Precept study by Kay Arthur. All homework will be completed in class each week.
James: Mercy Triumphs | Room E203 with Terri Logelin
James, Jesus’ own brother, started out as a skeptic. See how one glimpse of the resurrected Savior turned an unbeliever into a disciple. Bible scholars compare James to the prophet Amos. In other ways, James more closely resembles the Book of Proverbs than any other New Testament book. Topics include: joy, hardship, faith, reversal of fortunes for rich and poor, wisdom, gifts from above, single-mindedness, the dangers of the tongue, humility, and prayer. This is an 8 week DVD study by Beth Moore.
The Shelter of God’s Promises | Ryan Hall with Mary Lynn Welch & Karen McMahon
You know God’s promises, but are they for you, are they for now, are they for this? If you look to your circumstances alone, it may seem that God has forgotten you. But He hasn’t. He can’t. And He wouldn’t even if He could. God is the only promise maker who is always a promise keeper. And God’s promises will never fail you!
In this study, Sheila Walsh searches Scripture for what God has promised us, what God’s promises mean, and how encounters with Christ are the eternal fulfillment of His unrelenting commitment to us. Through vulnerable storytelling, new insights, and an in-depth Bible study, Sheila offers powerful, heart-filled teaching on ten bedrock promises of God, providing the foundation for daily confidence, joy, hope—and shelter.
Tiny Treasures
Tiny Treasures is the Tuesday morning program for children. It appeals to children’s different learning styles in one energy-packed, exciting session. And yet, even with all the action and movement, the Bible story and its modern-day application are clearly part of everything the child will experience.
Teaching sessions include Bible stories, songs, art activities, snacks, and recreational games and activities. Everything the children do will be related to the Bible story, helping them understand and apply biblical truths to their daily lives.
If you attend a Tuesday morning Bible study, you may enroll your preschooler or homeschooler in this program on the registration form. The cost is $20 per family. Fees are payable to our children’s ministry on or before the start date.
Sisters in Service
Sisters in Service (SIS) assists different missions groups at home and abroad by providing needed items for their ministries. We work on a variety of projects throughout the year, some of which have included:
collecting layette items for Crisis Pregnancy Center
making quilts and various craft project kits for evangelism in Mexican communities
creating candy poppers and gift bags for ministry to homeless in Mexico
We hope you will join us as often as possible as we build friendships with each other and reach out to those in need. No experience is necessary; we’re just looking for willing hearts and busy hands! We meet the second Thursday of each month (September through May) from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm in Ryan Hall. No childcare is provided for this group.
