I have been a part of Palmcroft since 1991, the year my oldest son was born. Being a first time mom and having a hard time leaving my son, I started working in children’s ministry the first time I took him to the church nursery! Never in a million years did “Children’s Director” cross my mind! However, over the years, God gave me and my husband, John, a passion for kids to really know Jesus.

In April of 2005, I was asked to take the Children’s Director position. After MUCH prayer and of course a few family meetings with our five boys, God was clear that this would be how He would use us here at Palmcroft.

The heart of a child is so tender and open, no wonder Jesus says to come to Him as little children (Matt. 18:3). Our desire is that each boy and girl touched by the ministries of Palmcroft would be introduced to Jesus and accept Him as their Lord and Savior. There is nothing more exciting than hearing a child say, “Teacher, please pray with me, because I want Jesus!”

The summer of 2009, we had over 800 kids attend our Vacation Bible School and 75+ give their lives to Jesus! In our Awana program, we are seeing kids (and adults) get excited about their faith. My sweet 82 year-old friend brings almost 20 neighborhood kids to Awana each week, and they are loving it so much that they are begging their parents to being them back on Sundays.

God is good! He has blessed my family in so many ways, I am humbled that He would choose to use someone like me here at Palmcroft. My life is busy being a wife, mom, taxi driver, cheer leader for my boys (and John too), daughter, sister, friend, and Children’s Director, but I pray that I will always be available and willing to be used by my Savior.
