We’re a church.
What is a church though? We believe that being a church has very little to do with a building. A church is a group of people following Jesus together. So, if you’re doing that, or are interested in knowing more about what that looks like, you’re welcome and have a place here.
We believe that diversity in the church makes it stronger and more complete. We love being a church full of people of all ages and from all backgrounds. We think that if you look around you’ll find something coming up that would be great for you, no matter what stage of life you are in.
In September of 1944, during the height of the second World War, Palmcroft Baptist Church was founded on the 1500 block of West McDowell in Phoenix, Arizona. With forty-four people present at that first service, Pastor Leroy Thomas communicated the vision of missions and evangelism. In 1981 Palmcroft moved to its current location on North 35th Avenue where that vision has established into a firm foundation. Currently over 2,000 people are involved in ministry at Palmcroft each week.
In 2008 we set out to create a logo that embodies the essence of who we are as a church body. Working with an outside group, we designed a symbol that speaks to our DNA and our vision for ministry. The framed circular formation represents the sun shining down on Phoenix and is inspired by our heart for the city. The style of the sun symbol has a spirit of motion and transformation; this mirrors our desire to see Jesus transform people.
